Questions

What do I need to run it?

A Mac with macOS 12 Monterey or later (Apple silicon or Intel), or a 64-bit PC with Windows 10 or 11.

An internet connection to download videos, and enough free disk space for them: an export briefly needs room for the downloaded videos and the finished file.

Whose videos can I use?

Only videos you have the rights to use: your own uploads, videos you have permission for, or content whose license allows it. You are responsible for what you download and publish, as the Terms explain.

Why does Windows warn me when I open the installer?

Windows will show “Windows protected your PC” when you run the installer, because the Windows build isn't code-signed yet. Check that the file is named CompilationCreator-…-windows-x64-setup.exe and came from your download link, choose “More info”, then “Run anyway”.

The Windows installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows lists the publisher as unknown. Signing is on the way; once it's in place, Windows will name us as the publisher. The Mac app is already signed and notarized by Apple.

Is the Mac app safe to open?

Yes. The Mac app is signed and notarized by Apple. macOS asks once whether you want to open an app downloaded from the internet; choose Open.

How many computers can I use it on?

A license works on one computer at a time. To move it, open the app on the old computer and choose “Deactivate this computer”, then enter your key on the new one.

If the old computer is lost or broken, request a link that frees the license. That works twice a year; after that, email support.

Does it work offline?

Once activated, Lifetime keeps working without a connection; it never locks you out for being offline. You still need the internet to download videos and to get updates.

Do my videos get uploaded anywhere?

No. Downloading, trimming and joining all happen on your computer, and the finished MP4 is saved where you choose. The app sends no analytics or crash reports.

Do I get updates?

Yes. Lifetime includes the updates we release for the studio. On a Mac, the app checks for a new version once a day and installs it when you say so.

On Windows, for now, get each new version from the download page. The app will update itself once the Windows installer is signed.

I lost my license key or download links.

Your key is in the email you got after buying. Download links expire after a week; enter the email you bought with to get fresh ones.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 14 days of buying, for any reason. Request it at paddle.net, or email us from the address you bought with. A refund deactivates the license it paid for.

How do I get help?

Email [email protected]. In the app, Logs → “Report a problem” writes the email for you, with your app version and recent log lines.
